TTSAO Conference Panels
2025 Conference Panels!

instructor certification
Panel Host
Ken Adams – President and CEO of Crossroads Truck & Career Academy
Our panel on Instructor Certification will emphasize the critical need for qualified instructors to ensure truck drivers are properly trained to keep Ontario’s roads safe. We’ll address the challenges of rolling out a standardized certification program across TTSAO member schools and explore solutions for seamless implementation. Additionally, the panel will focus on increasing advocacy efforts with the Ontario government to support making instructor certification a provincially mandated standard, further elevating the quality of driver education and road safety.

white paper
Panel Host
Phil Fletcher – President TTSAO
This panel will delve into the critical gaps in the current MELT curriculum outlined in the TTSAO white paper. Key issues include insufficient training hours, inconsistent testing equipment, lack of oversight, and non-compliance with MCU requirements. Panelists will discuss actionable solutions to strengthen training standards, improve driver readiness, enhance safety, address regulatory challenges, ensure industry compliance, and meet evolving expectations effectively for sustainable growth.

mentorship
Panel Host
coming soon
Our Mentorship Panel will address the critical gap between the provincially mandated MELT program and the expectations of carriers. This gap leaves new drivers struggling to find work and, when employed, often undertrained, leading to mistakes that impact their CVOR and insurability. We aim to strengthen partnerships with carriers and the insurance industry to ensure TTSAO member school graduates receive the training needed to bridge this gap. Our goal is to make TTSAO graduates the top choice for carriers.
