Striving for Excellence in Training

Mike McCarron and Manan Gupta Talk State of the Industry at TTSAO Conference 2022

It was a lively discussion on one of the hottest topics in transportation for 2022. Mike McCarron addressed the audience at the recent TTSAO Conference with a presentation that really had no decisive action at the end. How-do we fix our industry? This is the question many are asking and hoped that McCarron could answer. What he did outline for the audience is that trucking is splitting into possibly two separate types of industries and the market will tell us at the end what is needed.

Legacy carriers are slowly disappearing and the spot market has made opportunities for new small businesses especially in the South Asian community. Manan Gupta of Newcom also outlined in the panel discussion that we need to turn up the enforcement for those working underhanded but also accept that there may be new ways of doing business that are not familiar to North Americans. Will it be the only way to fill the growing driver shortage issue? Know one knows but it certainly made for an entertaining session.
